Coriolis Illusion

 

Turn hard and long enough and your body

and brain will betray you. Fluid in your

ears will tell you tales different from those

your clouded vision speaks. Do not let them

trick you. Your eyes, your ears will do the heart’s

foolish bidding. If you’re not careful, they

will place you in a dangerous attitude.

Instead, move slowly. Focus on the tools

at hand: a true good friend, your therapist,

the fortune cookie’s dubious advice.

Whatever you do, don’t push the throttle

too quickly. Whatever you do, don’t trust

the sky. He will lie to you every time—

tell you he loves you when he never did.
